Marriage
We are always delighted to welcome couples who choose to get married in the parish and are happy to be part of your preparations.
Firstly contact our vicar, Revd. Elizabeth Binns, who will speak to you both initially to record all the relevant details. Before we can fix a date and time for your wedding, we have a legal duty to check that you can lawfully marry in the parish. This and lots of other information about getting married in church can be found on the Church of England website.
Revd. Elizabeth Binns will confirm your booking as soon as you have provided all the information we need. It is vital that you do not book your wedding reception or make any other arrangements until the date and time of your wedding has been confirmed. Once booked we are happy to meet with you at any stage to discuss the service and to answer any questions.

Weddings.
Thank you for considering All Saints for your wedding.
We know that you will already be planning your special day, and we hope that together we can make it even more wonderful and answer a few questions as we go...
Getting married: the legal bit!
Not the most romantic start but it is important to ensure you are legally able to marry here. Obviously neither of you must be married to anyone else and if either of you has been divorced we will need to see proof of the decree absolute. You also need to have what is termed a qualifying condition:•
-
One or both of you lives or has lived in the parish for at least 6 months or you have attended/will attend the church for at least 6 months•
-
One or both of you was baptised or confirmed here•
-
You have a parent who lives or has lived in the parish, or they attend this church•
-
Your grandparents were married at this church
Before you are married we need to read your Banns during the main Sunday service for 3 consecutive weeks. Banns also need to be read out in your own parish church if you do not live in our parish.

When can we get married?
You can get married on any day, including Sundays. The service must be completed between 8am and 6pm in order to be ‘legal’. Midweek weddings are becoming increasingly popular and we can usually offer any day of the week for your service.
The charges we make are set by the Church of England; currently the wedding service is £600. There may be additional charges for things like music and the ringing of the church bells. In regard to music we are fortunate that we have a superb organ and an equally superb organist! However, if you prefer recorded music or want to bring in other forms of live music that can also be arranged. Hymns are not compulsory and the music you choose can be as non-traditional as you like!

The Wedding Service
A church wedding will add a spiritual dimension to your marriage. The ceremony includes God and reminds us that we can look to him for help and guidance. We use the service set out by the Church in Common Worship; the language is modern, but it also brings in many of the traditional elements that have been used for hundreds of years. You may want to add things of your own to make the service more personal such as a special poem or reading.
We are always supportive of involving family and friends in the service as long as this is what you want. If you are thinking about a wedding why not come and have a chat so that we can start working together on that perfect wedding.
Vow Renewals and Blessing of a Civil Marriage For couples celebrating special anniversaries or those who have had or are about to have a civil service we can provide a special service in church to help celebrate your marriage.
